If we have learned anything from this year, it is that we need to be comfortable with our own company and have to understand the importance of self-love. We have also learned new facts about ourselves as well. One thing that has left us in awe and has been our number one survival instinct throughout the year, was our streaming habits and binge-watching movie series and our favorite TV programs. I mean I have watched all the marvel movies in a sequence that really made me realize how well scripted the movies have been and in sync as well.

Binge-watching can be easily referred to as an endurance sport and has now become so common that it might just end up as a category in Olympics, some years from now. While binge-watching is always soothing and satiating, it is important to prepare for a comfortable session to ensure the satisfaction one must feel through it.

We have come up with a list of ways that can make binge-watch as comfortable as possible. Read on.

The first and foremost factor that needs your attention for an ultra-comfortable binge-watching session is a high-speed internet connection. Snacking or munching while binge-watching adds pleasure, of another dimension, to your watch. In order to make your routine a bit more exciting and gratifying, add some snacks to your binge-watching regime beforehand. Some of the most common and perfect binge-watching snacks are:

  • Cheesesteak Crescent Pockets
  • Pretzels and nuggets
  • Pizza bites and nachos
  • Caramel popcorns
  • Snickers Chex Mix
  • Candies
  • Nutella from the jar

For health-conscious friends, the list is a bit different:

Now, I understand that when binge-watching, time stops, or at least we think it does and does not realize how much time has passed till it actually has but you don’t want your entertainment habits to have a negative impact on your health. Therefore, please take out the time to stretch your muscles every hour or so.

Furthermore, look out for your posture and maintain a straight one while sitting. Another important thing is to not just keep lying in the bed the entire time; try sitting in a firm position.

Take breaks when watching mind consuming content

If you have watched ‘Dark’ or ‘Mindhunter’, you would know what a mind consuming content looks like. Emotionally fraught concepts or intense scripts can have an adverse influence on your mental health and so you need to be careful with your own sake.

I remember that when I was binge-watching Dark, I had to take a break before watching the third season as it had become too heavy on my mind and I am glad that I did. I don’t know about you but my go-to series for mind relaxation is either ‘Friends’ or ‘The Office (U.S.).’ You can also watch a rom-com to make room for a heavy matter.

Open a Window perhaps

Let yourself breathe a little fresh air. Make sure to have a window open for a fresh air outlet in your room. The stench of the snacks in the room and even your own aura needs to be refreshed every now and then. For this matter, if you have a window in your room, keep it open for a while. If not, you can open the door of your room or better yet, go for a walk outside and take out the trash as well.

Have a watch party

For some legit fun, you can also invite your friends over to watch some series. I watch the entire ‘The Godfather’ movie series with my two best friends on Thanksgiving every year. And although we have been watching these movies since our childhood, it still sparks the room because we have memories associated with watching them together.

Now that we are in a social distancing phase of our life, this might not be the best option. So for that, you can create a watch party on your streaming service, like Amazon Prime Video and Hulu, to virtually watch a movie or season together with your friends.
