Photo Sharing (59)

Over the coming days I will posting many of the photos sent in by fans over the last few weeks. This is the first opportunity I have had to sit down in front of the computer and get these shared with everyone so I apologize for the delay and hope everyone enjoys them.

Back in the twelfth episode of season four, “Still”, we watched as Daryl and Beth stumble onto a golf course while evading some walkers, then they enter the country club as Beth searches for her first drink.

(Note: The above image is property of AMC Studios and is posted here for comparison purposes only.)

These scenes were filmed in Griffin, GA at The Club at Shoal Creek (formerly Griffin Country Club).

Below are some of the photos sent to me from Philip Walker. I learned from Philip that the location crew came across the country club while it was under renovation and requested to use it for the show. This would explain the disheveled look of the property which perfectly coincides with the apocalyptic setting for The Walking Dead.

Thank you, Philip, for sending in these photos and allowing me to share them with fellow fans.

Wow, I forgot about these. The ball room is where the walkers were hanging from the ceiling, and the driving range was the “fairway” that is seen in the show as the walkers are coming out of the woods. The stairwell and adjacent hallway have new carpet. The only area that I didn’t get to see was the men’s locker room, which was still being painted while I was taking my son to practice. Also, the sign seen in the show was strictly put there for the show and was removed after they finished filming.

Three to 4 days to do it good.

  3. Hi.. I don’t know if this question can be answered but here it is: about how many days would it take to see all or most filmed places from season 1 through season 4 ?? Im plannig on a vacation in GA this year.

    • Gary says:

Three maybe 4 days should do it.

I hope you include a Saturday visit since Grantville is only doing their tour on that day. Assuming you are going to the locations on your own or planning on the Atlanta Movie tour? Just remember, some locations although on the map are not accessible to the public, but there are plenty that are!
